i'm running acer aspire 1 netbook. i've held off updating 10.10 11.04 until dust has settled. go? if live cd works ok you, pull trigger , install. if black screen on gateway (with intel 4500 mhd graphics) , numerous error messages while trying install, that's bad sign , might want hold off. have 1 laptop runs 11.04 pretty well. no black screens , use ubuntu classic desktop effects turned off. other printing problems pdf's, i'm reasonably happy. other laptop hates 11.04, i'm sticking 10.10 on one. lot of depends on how tweaking want do, you. if you're ok that, can 11,04 running on anything, worth effort? know answer that. hi. i'm working on few issues seen when rolling out framemaker 11 through xenapp.  of dirctory paths prove problematic permissions users have, due restrictions in place appsense.  i've read directories can edited within maker.ini file. there global maker.ini file sits in application folder, , maker.ini each user exists in profiles should maintain user specific preferences.  have tried edit 1, other, , both of these .ini files no change. below example of have tried,  after launch framemaker path never appears change, still opening default directories. default maker.ini ( with default directories in brackets ) [directories] clipart=clipart    ( c:\program files (x86)\adobe\adobeframemaker11\clipart ) samples=samples    ( c:\program files (x86)\adobe\adobeframemaker11\samples ) edited maker.ini [directories] clipart=d:\ samples=d:\ i able change default directory opendironstart using set hope i'm able these 2 paths.  thanks. the default location set relative fmhome dir

i've been trying export file booklet pdf, i've watched many how-to videos , option seems pick isn't on drop-down menu when try export booklet pdf.   i click file ->print booklet -> print settings ->printer... can't find important adobe pdf!!!   any ideas how else can export booklet pdf (so pages can bound book) without this, or how can add pdf option? are on mac, or windows, , have acrobat pro installed?   print booklet, name says, print function, not export, printing postscript file , distilling. on windows, acrobat pro installs virtual printer combines single step. virtual printer no longer installed on mac (see indesignsecrets » blog archive » acrobat’s adobe pdf printer replaced in snow leopard , read comments). without full version of acrobat installed, though, neither platform can distill operation. downloaded image istockphoto. opened in illustrator , removed black background because want set own values black background in indesign.   noticed there several "bubbles" of black background behind main image contain radial gradients.   these "bubbles" fade dark blue in center out black on edge. again, want able set "black" value of black want use background of card. when click on 1 of bubbles, see in gradient palette it's radial gradient , value on left of slider 100, 75, 0, 50 can see in color palette. can't change there. on right of slider in gradient palette "black" 80, 50, 0, 100.   so, how modify value of black? if choose "new swatch" in swatches palette, creates new swatch called "new gradient swatch 1" shows process color color type below greyed out below that.   so, again, how go changing black on gradient?   idcs 5.5 click black color stop on gradient panel.... adjust values in color panel. hi all, have old desktop. 378 mbram, celeron 2.4ghz. got new ide hard disk today. dont have cdrom on it. have usb drives. partitioned through winxp using easeus partition manager , created ext2 partion , swap partition (also ext2). made bootable usb 10.04 linux laptop through startup disk creator. changed bios of desktop boot usb hdd , booted desktop. real problem started here. first screen of ubuntu appeared , of sudden system got turned off itself. tried many times, same thing happens again , again either @ first screen or second screen showing ubuntu title. not going further or computer turns off itself. tried changing usb ports. no use. if remove usb , boot, system boots win xp. tried deleting partitions , booted again. system turns off again. can't understand problem. please help. want install ubuntu through usb dual boot winxp , ubuntu. how solve problem? ca
