Thread: Skype in kubuntu 9.10

hi,
installed kubuntu 9.10 sister.she has no linux experience , start of using it.
want install skype cant find in software manager, and skype.com gives me .exe file!! (i click on ubuntu download option)
how can install it?

ps :
1.i have experience in gnome not in kde...
2.we installed kubuntu 9.10 because system low on performance , planning use lxde later, but want use 9.10

first,

*ubuntu variant pre 10.04 no longer supported. recommend upgrading 10.04 long term support vversion, , stable. see details regarding , supported: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/lts

far installer issue goes, should download *.deb file from:
http://www.skype.com/intl/en/get-sky...omputer/linux/

select on left hand side under "download now" option require (as note, skype not support ubuntu before 10.04 either). may try debian 5+ package support, wont recommend it.

safest upgrade, kubuntu, or xubuntu, atleast 10.04.

luck
