How to dock the floating tools palette in InDesign CS6 for Mac? Normal way doesn't work

in cs applications except indesign cs6 (mac), can dock tools window side of main content panes other window: drag edge, , @ right point, highlights docked blue outline, , docks when let go.

i can't find way in indesign cs6 (version 8.0, mac), however. unlike every other window, never gives option dock, no matter drag it. options in toolbar switch between 1 row vertical, 2 rows vertical, , 1 row horizontal. i've looked in preferences > interface , options refer "floating tools bar" , give same 1 row vertical, 2 rows vertical, , 1 row horizontal options tool bar itself.

i can't see option stop floating. i've tried on variety of window > arrange settings, , window > application frame both ticked , unticked, , nothing works. can make snap position in corner, doesn't dock , doesn't stop floating.

it's not inconsistency , nuisance of sitting on top of documents , not moving rest of window causes problem: i'm on mac (lion) , floating toolbar breaks normal useful operating system function. in every application except indesign, when press f3, current window shrinks down , see every other open window, organised application, each application's icon floating on top. in indesign cs6, it's floating tool bar, not main window, shrinks. main indesign window stays is, awkwardly sat between icons , other windows, in way of other windows - making impossible use f3 switch different other window without switching out of indesign first.

here's screenshot found online (looks windows version of cs6?) tools bar docked: no close icon, slots in neatly alongside content panes, not treated seperate window os.

i'm having trouble finding mac screenshots it's docked - in most, it's floating awkwardly above left ruler.

turn on application frame. reason, it's off default.
