Keeping high audio quality, despite Pr Pro Audio Conforming

i'm working on film project, edited in premiere pro.  recording of audio @ 24/96 .wav files.  there audio files recorded @ 16/48 compressed, coming different sources.  unfortunately unavoidable.  so, upon digging in adobe sections, found if start project , set sequence settings audio sample rate of 96 (or 96,000), prem pro not conform 24/96 .wav files.  (pr pro not conform uncompressed audio of supported format if brought sequnce sample rate of sequence same clip.) great.  24/96 files hold quality way through process.  conform other files such 16/48 compressed files.

so here's question.  (keep in mind final product exported 24/96.) can take 16/48 audio files , convert them uncompressed 24/96 before bringing prem pro , prem pro won't conform them @ all.  yield best audio quality - 16/48 audio file has been conformed prem pro , during export done prem pro converted 24/96, or audio quality higher if convert 16/48 audio file first 24/96 , bring prem pro, won't conformed prem pro @ all?  in other words, best audio quality, let prem pro conform 16/48 files , convert them 24/96 during export, or do 16/48 converstion 24/96 in program audition?

(((and yes, higher audio quality matters.)))

thank you

guess have test matt.

let know find out not sure how analyse results.  put best ears on.

maybe daw protools  happily work audio files different in same session think audition conforms same.

ask audio mixer or in audition forum..
