Thread: starting many instances of file manager (nautilus) in gnome 2


hi,

when login gnome version 2 - there appears lot of tries open file manager (nautilus).

desktop not active (no icons) panels have appeared.

tried use following advises from:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=525718


seems me nothing works following tried:


1 try:
can stop behaviour switch off in gconf-editor:
apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop false.

desktop icons not appear - correct behaviour have desktop icons


2 try:
have tried comment in:
/usr/share/application/nautilus.desktop
line:
x-gnome-autorestart=true


3. try:
add:
autostartcondition=gnome /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop
/usr/share/application/nautilus.desktop


have run out of ideas.
please can linux newbie ?

partially solved by:
set apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop false
