Thread: 'Bout to lose it here. migrating from fedora 15 to ubuntu 11.04


alright, ill start beggining. gonna long comfortable...
got computer friend linux mint 9.
tried bunch of different things because wanted ipod touch 4g (4.2.1 jb'd), , roommates ipod nano 5th gen able sync on computer. not new computer not have xp disk, if came 1 is. partitions have nothing in them related windows either.
after failing ubuntu 11.04 mint, decided instead try fedora 15, have running now.

turns out fedora doesnt work devices either. went ahead , tried install 11.04 usb. lead me problem, fedora f****in liveusb-creator doesnt work whatsoever.

result of problem, used virtualbox create desktop of linux mint 11 , got startupdisk creator work in that. got usb ready , rebooted usb problem else gets cant find volume blah blah blah. edited ui out of file says fixes problem , rebooted.it made start menu options install ubuntu, try ubuntu etc.. , took me command problem "help" prompt. pressed enter multiple times, nothing happened...

im gonna throw computer out window pretty here...

how set nomodeset , other kernel boot options in grub2

had nvidia 9600gt:
install ubuntu, boot cd press key @ accessibility circle , keyboard, press f6 , select nomodeset option.
usb boot - @ menu press tab on first option edit boot options , replaced 'splash' option 'nomodeset'.
then
on first boot after install, press e on getting grub bootloader.
hold shift bios boot menu if 1 system installed.
using arrow keys navigate , delete quiet , splash , type word nomodeset in place
press ctrl , x boot (low graphics mode)
