Weird hanging issue when checking for language updates - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi,
issue:
on new joomla install, seem have issue on sites , not others , don't know causing it. not appear specific server have used on different servers different configurations.
what's happening:
basically, when clicking on "check updates" under extension manager, when "accredited language translations" update site enabled, system sits there forever @ "waiting..." , nothing happens. no errors appear in logs. doesn't past point check errors. since that's third site in update_sites table, never makes past point (last checked datestamp never set). happens on new joomla install without configuring anything.
when single update_site disabled, checks updates fine, , works expected.
i don't have language plugins enabled, if still causes same issue. default i've started disabling update site. i'm disturbed because don't know causing there seem no helpful information logged joomla error logs anywhere no matter level of error logging (php error logging, joomla debug plugin, joomla debug turned on, there no errors showing anywhere), there not seeming timeout or if there is, isn't working when hits language translations site.
could there happening on language update site that's blocking specific ip addresses reason? or else? can't imagine why of ips blocked or if problem, there weird going on not happen on new installations , don't think it's on end have typical lamp install base on ubuntu 14.04. lack of error messages or sort of way debug perplexing well.

it heavy afternoon debugging joomla find disabling "accredited joomla! translations" in #__update_sites table system working again, we've done network debugging.
