Joomla/Civicrm menu crash - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

not quite sure start, i'll start here.

i have joomla installation (3.3.6), along civicrm (v4.5.5). running fine until realized 1 of menu entries pointing wrong civicrm option. when went change menu entry, joomla 'crashed'. display page non-gui/ascii form version of menu edit page, there no buttons, no tabs, no menus, no color, nothing. tried turning on php debug, that's missing display. looked @ page source, , can tell, everything's there should be, doesn't display page properly.

i'm not sure if joomla or civicrm problem. problem occurs during following sequence:
go menu manager > main menu
click on new menu
enter menu title: 'test"
click on 'menu item type' select button
scroll down civicrm, select 'profile view page'
as you've click on option, page crashes.

i did startup firebug, shows ""referenceerror: joomla not defined" far haven't been able figure out why thinks that.

not civicrm menu options crash, majority of them do.

has encountered before? have ideas?

ok, i've tried variety of processes , ended in same result, failure.

a) took existing built system , started disabling extensions 1 one until left joomla, core functions, template , civicrm. tried create menu link civicrm membership contribution page , system bombs. (meaning joomla gui aspects have disappeared , ended straight ascii form of new menu screen (see attachment)).

b) started fresh build - joomla, template, content , civicrm (unconfigured). added each of extensions until installed. attempted create menu link civicrm contribution page. fine. did complete configuration of civicrm - following civicrm checklist , creating membership type set followed membership price set. created membership profile based upon on of existing profiles. created membership contribution page. did preview , looked fine. tried create joomla menu entry civicrm membership page , bombs. (meaning joomla gui aspects have disappeared , ended straight ascii form of menu screen (see attachment)).

i've tried building , rebuilding system in variety of ways, during build up, looks fine until finish configuring civicrm , try create menu link it.

i tried joomla's debug, nothing.
i've looked @ server logs, empty.
i've tried firefox's firebug, nothing.

from can tell, nothing else in setup having problem.

i'm @ wits end. have ideas how figure out what's going on? missing?
