Thread: PowerBook G4 - How to Disable Trackpad?

ok, i've tried standard suggestions on ubuntu forums , searched forums answer. nothing has worked. i've tried powerpc utils, gsynaptics , host of other apps , command line tools. i've tried fn+f keys. nothing worked.

have powerbook g4 installed ubuntu 10.04 upon. trackpad screws typing every time, , want disable trackpad.

i've had ubuntu on laptop before , had way disable trackpad, after many years , reinstall of ubuntu (10.04 in case), don't remember , can't find information on how disable trackpad. remember, last time had go xorg.conf , modify "0" disable trackpad. xorg.conf looks different last time modified years ago , there nothing can find modify trackpad disable it.

please help. want use powerbook g4 ubuntu 10.04, trackpad gets in way of typing , useless trackpad engaged.

fyi: gsynaptics gave me error message when installed, can't system/preferences/trackpad....even though i'm not sure can disable whole trackpad there anyway, want do.

also: when run xinput list trackpad listed "abd mouse".

thank in advance.
