Thread: How do I install OSX Snow Leopard (bought CD) in VirtualBox 4.1.2

my background:

sadly, moderately computer literate, , less ubuntu. new ubuntu. have mastered gui well, beginner @ terminal window. beginner osx.

know more windows , virtualbox, i'm fed windows , trying learned more ubuntu, virtualbox, , osx. have several version of windows installed in virtualbox. have experience vbox there.


here problems , goals:

have ubuntu 64-bit v11.04 on dell 1 intel processor, 4 cores.

have virtualbox 4.1.2 installed.

want install osx snow leopard guest operating system in virtualbox.

i not want install hackintosh hazard version of osx.

want install osx snow leopard cd purchased.
i have tried instructions found @ http://www.sysprobs.com/install-mac-...apple-intel-pc
it got empire boot loader loaded. wasn't sure if should use intel or amd version 64 bit intel. tried both versions of empire boot loader. both started boot loader, failed after put in osx cd , pressed f5.
amd version of empire did nothing after putting osx cd.

intel version of empire gave lots of ebios error messages on-screen in empire boot loader program. installation stops.
i tried instructions given geeknizer, failed well. don't remember details now, remember instructions pc host computer, not ubuntu host.

summary:

can please give me step-by-step instructions? how install snow leopard cd guest os in virtualbox 4.1.2. host os ubuntu 64-bit v11.04.

trying same mac osx 10.6.6 retail dvd.

speck:
vbox 4.1.2
intel i7 x32/x64 (win7x64 root os)
and
intel core2 duo x32/x64 (ubuntu x64 root os)

1. first turn off efi in vbox settings
2. have boot iso (empireefiv1085.iso) loaded in cd-rom , hdd.
3. boot empire.iso
4. when black screen loads f5, swap empire.iso real dvd using vbox settings, wait 5 secconds.
5. note cd image change osx empire.
6. press enter start!
7. press enter @ (x32 / x64) detection message... wait 1 min , should have osx install screen.

stuck, , update futher.

hello all, i in process of migrating joomla 2.5 1.5. 1 of categories in 1.5 version had capital letters in name. in joomla 2.5, uppercase letters in article/menu/category alias automatically converted lowercase. i tried changing menu alias in database, caused 404 error in category-blog page. i have been trying many days find solution, reason being many of pages category in 1.5 site have lots of facebook likes don't want lose. does work-around exist allow me manually change category/menu alias category blog page , articles have category name uppercase letters? any appreciated. thanks! you can 301 redirect uppercase urls lowercase. hi i trying upgrade joomla 2.5.27 3.6. have checked requirements (i've upgraded site), purged cache , gone short term support, when click save & close told (as before) have latest joomla version - not offer me joomla 3.6 (or else). have suggestions please? thank you c you can download joomla 3.x update , install manually using joomla's extension installer. don't forget create backup before doing that.
