reverse compression?

i've got audio i'd "improve" if can. i've got lav on presenter, voice peaking around -12db. audio on presenter pretty good, i'm not doing it. i've got on track hard limiter (the presenter picks things , sets them on counter during demonstrations , lav mic picks spikes, limit them), , bit of single band compressor compensate presenter's natural sound level fluctuations. that's it.

toward end of class, lav started pick noise meeting in adjoining class room. it's "party sounds"; suspect meeting took break (or came end) , attendees started talk each other. noise peaks around -45db. raised noise floor , therefore lowered signal-to-noise ratio.   lasts 10 minutes during presentation.

since there's spacing between presenter , meeting noise, wondering if there way push meeting noise lower, increasing signal-to-noise ratio, without effecting presenter. sort of reverse of compression -- expansion downward . possible in audition cs6? worth doing? if so, tool should looking for?

it's possible dynamics processor, results in 'breathing' sounds noise floor goes through level shift, presenter talks , party's going on simultaneously. , results inevitably sound worse doing nothing, imho.
