if have lamp installed , running, should able browse http://<the ip address of server> web browser on windows boxes. should display message saying "it works", recall contents of default index.html file in /var/www. replace default index.html file own home page , add other files apache in /var/www. can configure apache have virtual sites, or several sites bound different ip addresses add secondaries. set want. if want act windows file server want make sure samba installed. there various guides configuring in ubuntu community docs starting place.
