Concerns About Joomla Extension Providers - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi everyone,

i running open source project many members , need functional , stable cms allow collaborate, document , design together.

we love joomla because of it's incredible flexibility , open source nature, there things concern us... perhaps put our minds @ ease...

we migrating purely phpbb3 forum using joomla!3, kunena forums , community builder, not mention host of other smaller extensions give site required functionality.

each of these extensions maintained separate teams, out of own will... question is, how stable these extensions? extension providers won't stop supporting extension?

take kunena forums example, apparently activity on project has been waning time.

if decide adopt kunena forums , decide stop supporting it, fixing bugs etc, major blow our community , project.

it seems interest in community builder , kunena forums has been declining time...

are these graphs believed? people losing interest? don't want jump onto sinking ship asking @ joomla, our safest bet our community , project?

i don't have idea what, if anything, graphs mean, think you're pretty safe cb , kunena.
the "evidence" can offer fact both projects "up-to-date" versions joomla's latest code.
if you're doubtful though, remember it's not strictly necessary use joomla component forum. one, instance, phpbb...
i have built several sites using cb , kunena, including project grow 100 plus "instances" of websites running discrete copies (reconfigured) of joomla/cb/kunena...
