How can I create prefilled and editable PDF's on a Linux server with PHP?

i can create pdf's editable form fields (extended features?) , serve our users , can pre-fill form fields data database using fdf, pdf throws error , end user can't fill out remaining fields (in reader, still works in pro).

 

i've tried 2 open source approaches already, end result either fillable form or pre-filled form. can't seem both @ same time.

 

i've looked around adobe.com , frankly there's stuff there isn't applicable it's staggering. lost , resorting asking question on forum. i've searched these forms (and others), related problem have no answers. i'm sure there's way it.

 

if try set pdf fetch fdf using http post/submit (can when loads?) still have id number query string or object on per document basis (some how?) , means editing pdf server side breaks structure throws error on client side , i'm right @ beginning again.

 

at point, looks it's going take less time create form in html unique css file print version using png visual elements instead of pdf. not great way go printing, take day set up. time create new forms issue. don't want spend 8 hours creating new html forms when can pdf in 2 hours. more efficient go adobe solution or roll own html version?

 

all want users save time pre-filing part of form can print it.

 

any advice?
