Thread: Unable to build new opencv due to ffmpeg error

hi,

trying compile opencv2.3.1 highgui doesn't compile. error following:
code:
linking cxx shared library ../../lib/libopencv_highgui.so /usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libavcodec.a(kbdwin.o): relocation r_x86_64_32 against `.rodata' can not used when making shared object; recompile -fpic /usr/local/lib/libavcodec.a: not read symbols: bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [lib/libopencv_highgui.so.2.3.1] error 1 make[1]: *** [modules/highgui/cmakefiles/opencv_highgui.dir/all] error 2 make: *** [all] error 2
think due ffmpeg. have tried compile x264 , ffmpeg multiple times --enable-static , --enable-pic in vain. kindly in regard?

in advance.
