photo gallery - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi. i'm hoping find answer here. not sure if should post here or different place.
i write article , include few pictures it.
i started joomla site 2 months ago , tried install photo gallery. tried ozio couldn't work. when clicked button provided @ end of post, sent me admin page seemed empty list of kind contained search , filter functions. there doesn't seem way of, put, adding pictures, whole point of putting in gallery.
it seems first wants me put collection of pictures uploading them joomla, create gallery, go , create article, include gallery, , write article itself. isn't want.
i have folder on server store photos, videos, etc. on , use create photo gallery, not create new copies of these existing photos somewhere in joomla.
back in day, microsoft frontpage allow me pretty easily. yes, know, times. can - worked well.
so question this. there photo gallery plug-in or can use photos existing folder, kind of drag-and-drop thing streamline whole process?
this first post here, think. not sure expect.

you don't need gallery extension @ all.

upload images media manager , insert articles.
get jce editor. has better image handler. can upload image , insert directly when writing article.
