Thread: mp3 problems in Natty

i have spent weeks reading through every post can find , trying every different codec can find nothing allow me play mp3 files. new ubuntu can things work searching , finding out people have done nothing seems working.

when try opening mp3 standard media player says there no suitable plugin. if click search tells me "no packages requested plugins found.... requested plugins are: mpeg-1 layer 3 (mpr) decoder"

running 64bit

do have restricted extras installed? if on ubuntu:
