Thread: Unable to modify windows folders after mounting

systems:
ubuntu 11.04
windows 7 ultimate

i'm able windows share folder mounted in ubuntu, can't seem modify files/folders. i've tried creating new folders/files, following errors:

digital_alchemy@bacon:/media/htpc$ touch test
touch: cannot touch `test': permission denied
digital_alchemy@bacon:/media/htpc$

digital_alchemy@bacon:/media/htpc$ sudo mkdir test
mkdir: cannot create directory `test': permission denied
digital_alchemy@bacon:/media/htpc$

i've tried following entries in /etc/fstab file:

code:
//htpc/media_library  /media/htpc  cifs guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8,codepage=unicode,unicode  0  0 //htpc/media_library  /media/htpc  cifs credential=/home/digital_alchemy/.smbcredentials,iochart=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777  0  0 //htpc/media_library  /media/htpc  cifs credential=/home/digital_alchemy/.smbcredentials,dmask=777,fmask=777 0 0 //htpc/media_library  /media/htpc  cifs uid=digital_alchemy,credential=/home/digital_alchemy/.smbcredentials,dmask=777,fmask=777 0 0
they work fine mounting filesystem.... problem still can't modify or create files in share.

i've checked folder permissions on windows share , have both local users , authenticated users set full control on windows share.

advice appreciated.

i believe issue windows permissions (ntfs special permissions).

issue have encountered on server2008. example /users/public folder has "sticky bit" set read only.

log on locally or via rdp windows box. right click folder sharing , choose properties... checkbox selected "read only"?

have been unsuccessful in changing attribute. found this article not apply server2008, may work win7.

if above true, may easiest manually create folder on windows box , share it. move data folder once confirm not forced read only.
