Thread: Partitioning Issues


i have google cr-48 notebook. ssd has 6 gb comfortable allocating ubuntu. need move /usr external hdd. move /home partition on drive. going specify requirements must meet.

cannot install ubuntu again
cannot use liveusb or livecd or livedvd
cannot boot entire os usb drive
cannot requires grub (grub neither installed nor utilized, trust me certain)
cannot boot recovery mode (reboot recovery or pressing button both require grub) @ all
want know if can done , how can done in detail. have tried many times. each time new went wrong.

asking assistance on how something, don't want saying "moving /usr directory bad idea" or of nature. if had option felt comfortable wouldn't asking question.

assistance provide appreciated. provide more details in future if requested/required. sorry pessimism, after 5 re-installs patience grows little thin.

you can moving files desired partition. add partition fstab file (important) , make symbolic link files. let me know if need step-by-step. hesitate /usr directory.
there gui doing exact thing called ubuntu-tweak! highly recommend it!
