Thread: How 'experimental' is gfs2 in lucid?

i notice gfs2-tools package in lucid says:

description: global file system 2 tools (experimental)
gfs2 *must not* used in production environment yet.
there's 1 problem: kernel, in lucid, provides gfs2 module, doesn't have gfs module.

thus, attempt mount filesystem created mkfs.gfs fails with:

code:
error mounting /dev/mapper/cluster on /mnt: no such device
...whereas created mkfs.gfs2 works fine.

have need run clustered filesystem in production environment on 2 10.04 servers; how unstable gfs2 on lucid be?

cheers,

paul
