White Screen (WSOD) using v3.4.1 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi guys! not new forums first time i've posted in while.

i upgraded joomla! version 3.4.1 last week because (honestly) growing tired of seeing "update available" message. more realistically, knew safer go ahead , upgrade did. no problems whatsoever.

it may important note while have hosted sites locally 1 not. have hosted on vps aplus.net. telling me "index.php" file cause. uploaded "index.php" file had testing said, "hello world!". classic phrase used in first year programming classes.

anyway, said needed "working" index.php file. response frustrated me. ok, you're telling me need x not provide solution acquiring x aside obvious. copied index.php file untouched download of joomla 3.4.1 , overwrote existing 1 it.

nothing happened... have changed templates, nothing happened. have enabled debugging mode , thing changed annoying double asterisk's show @ beginning , end of every word or phrase in admin back-end (which can still access way).

so, i'm stuck, site not completed not want start on nor have time so...

if of joomla! guru's out here can me appreciate it.

oh, , did search forums answer this. there many forums posts/threads related wsod (white screen of death) later version or when trying upgrade version x.x.xx version 3.4.1. had no problems upgrading issues did not apply. although, did try of fixes anyway, no luck of course.

once again, hosting provider stated needed replace "index.php" file. don't know why did show me changing made appear other blank white page.

what guys think? , if need "working" index.php file it? 1 in joomla 3.4.1 installation package did not trick i'm afraid.

thanks in advance or suggestions!

regards,

painguin
