Paste(true) Problem

i don't script photoshop, i'm not in forum often, i'm having problem this.  here's small sample of what's become bridgetalk message illustrator.  i'm trying copy artwork illustrator, create new document in photoshop , place it.  have code that, comes halt (when photoshop gets involved):

 

app.documents.add();

var thisdoc = app.activedocument;

thisdoc.artlayers.add();

thisdoc.paste();

 

 

i'm copying artwork clipboard in illustrator , pasteing it.  works fine.  but, when try paste(true), keep getting infamous error code 8800 general photoshop error occurred.  functionality may not available in version of photoshop.  can tell on net, error tied lot of photoshop scripting problems.

 

the paste(true) syntax in reference, know it's available version.  i've tried ctrl-alt-del clear preferences , i've tried small piece of code on identical machine- windows 7, , i've tried on both 32 , 64 bit editions of photoshop. 

 

can tell me error , how fix it?  or there scriptable way place clipboard info photoshop?

 

i know real tiring issue of million questions on this, before first attempt @ scripting photoshop fails miserably, i'd know why.

true should lowercase true , used when pasting selection.
