hi all, i have copied live joomla website(1.5.23) make changes in design. i using xampp version v3.2.1 , php version 5.4.19 i have zipped live folder , database , copied local machine. later created datbase same name , imported copied database file , import successful. i have extracted live website folder , copied inside htdocs under folder named"joomla15" based on articles have made chnages configuration.php file changing database username, passsword , temp , log folder path settings. have chnaged default ftphost settings well. when try open path (http:localhost//joomla15), m getting totally blank page. when try open (http:localhost//joomla15/administrator) getting error below "you don't have permission access requested directory. there either no index document or directory read-protected." i have tried settings have been mentioned on web, still strugling site running. please guide on this. appreciated. thanks, mds2907 what happens when type localhost in bro...

i need duplicate joomla site that's running on 1 domain onto different domain. client wants same site on 2 separate domains. the server admin installed clean version of joomla on second domain told him didn't think needed because downloaded local machine site files , db , going upload other domain. i'm confused. do remove admin installed server (folders/files) , db tables , upload downloaded site exists? option 1: have 1 joomla installation (files + database) 1 domain name, and add second domain name same hosting (a "virtual domain"). -> = duplicate content, not seo point of view. option 2: create backup (of files + database, eg using akeeba backup) and restore on other hosting package under other domain name. if change content (articles & menu items) on second domain considerably, it not considered duplicate content. you don't need new joomla installation if want duplicate old joomla website. when try install ubuntu 11.04 natty on hp touchsmart tm2 (intel i3 "canadian" version), loads disc, external dvd drive. loads , see purple screen little keyboard , human logo, , after that, screen goes black. can hear disc drive going crazy though it's doing something, , after little while hear ubuntu bongo sound @ startup. think maybe it's graphics processor? or laptop screen. encountered before? just going bump again, need this. hello, looking can't seem find answer on forums. situation is, i'm trying upgrade 2.5 3.3, @ same time i'm going re-design website (ear-trumpet.net). so, i've setup subdomain , wish work on before copying on main site (demo.ear-trumpet.net). question is, i've put fresh joomla install on subdomain directory. /administrator login page isn't showing up? plus, wish use same mysql database new subdomain/demo site too. is possible (and/or wise)? you talk subdomain, subdomain? because don't need it! wouldn't put clean install in subdomain, restore backup main site there. 1 can migrated j3. depending on whether subdomain or not, verify .htaccess in main site. did enter url? you require mq off j3. about using same database, possible because each site uses prefix identify tables used. advice against avoid mistakes. makes working in phpmyadmin easier if have separate databases. lot of tables 1 instance let alone multiple. hi, in joomla site using cb , simultaneously need extension (module/component) works in following way: using extension, should able define several processes each 1 containing several phases (these shown or in chart format). site user should able choose 1 process , determines in phase of process (he can select phase in form of radio button or 1 part of chart). then, user should able see specific information based on phase has selected. is there extension can offer me reach looking for? hmmm, i don't know of cb prevent using component functions like. you might want check list of cb plugins available in "extension-specific" cb area see if has done clever process management component vis vis cb. hi, trying install ubuntu 11.04 on macbook alongside osx lion. last time installed ubuntu (alongside snow leopard) installtiondialog found current os , worked charm, installation don't find os. option use whole harddrive or partition within installer. first thought filevault, disabled , decrypted whole harddrive, still not working. have made partition 20gb partition, ubuntu installation don't find anything. tips? hello, for printing or mailing purpose, used re-open big .psb layer files (2-6gb) in cs5 , cs6 keybombo "alt" , "shift" while double clicking document in finder window (10.6 + 10.7.5), in order save time.   this not possible anymore, everytime open document way white , empty in photoshop. and idea, why doesnt work anymore?   thanks! how psb files saved (preferences > file handling > maximize …)? hello, all. seem have odd sort of situation iphone don't see here. can partly connect iphone. when connect computer, folder showing pictures -- pictures. can't find mount point (according i've read, should show under /media/iphone nothing there). i'd navigate folder pick out kindle downloads, can't seem outside of pictures.
