How Can I Avoid Losing Cross-References?
we have multiple .book files contain multiple .fm files, many of contain cross references. possible work files outside of network location (i.e flash drive) without losing cross references? employees take work home or work remotely; however, not have remote access our network, either e-mail necessary .fm files or save them flash drive work from. when return office , "save as" files, cross references become unresolved. there way avoid this? cross-reference markers in frame pretty robust. long nothing damages <mtype 9>, <mtext `xyzzy'> tags in target , <xrefsrctext> , <xrefsrcfile `filepath'> @ reference, frame find , connect them. typical fm edits don't delete such markers, if unreferenced. i have seen fm find markers when deleted, replaced new markers identical <mtext>. <unique> tags change, apparently ignored. now, if on fm10 or earlier, xref markers in tables can destroyed doing table sort, that's low odds scenario. ...
