resampling order of operations
i have large image (21.6 x 14.4in, 51.3mb, , 240ppi) need reduce approx. 7 x 5in, under 30mb, , 300ppi. first, resampled image down 7 x 4.667in, 5.38mb, , 240ppi. later, after realized forgot change resolution, resampled image changing resolution 300ppi. left final image had following characteristics: 7 x 4.667in / 8.41mb / 300ppi. since file size larger, i'm assuming photoshop did bit of guesswork in order add information file.
if have changed resolution 240ppi 300ppi @ same time resampled image down 7 x 4.667in, have gotten better image? in other words, should have done of adjustments @ same time? photoshop have done less gueswork if had been case?
yes. resized incorrectly. said, photoshop "added" information guessing. real data in file lost in first resample. pretty high res file, may not notice, bit blurrier have been if resampled correctly.
