Upgraded to 3.2.7, error about magic_quotes_gpc - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i upgraded 3.2.7. see references 3.4 on forum, so, don't know why upgraded me 3.2.7. clicked button upgrade , assumed recent version.

what do? upon install, said installed successfully, saw error in pink color @ top...

you need says - speak webhost disable magic_quotes_gpc
and host set version of php on account higher 3.10 (thats why upgrade 3.2.7)


before else starts post "i did , works" please not
the method disable magic_quotes_gpc vary depending on host. why contact web host , not tell other method can not guaranteed work , not want waste peoples time,

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

uppercase letters in url - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello all, i in process of migrating joomla 2.5 1.5. 1 of categories in 1.5 version had capital letters in name. in joomla 2.5, uppercase letters in article/menu/category alias automatically converted lowercase. i tried changing menu alias in database, caused 404 error in category-blog page. i have been trying many days find solution, reason being many of pages category in 1.5 site have lots of facebook likes don't want lose. does work-around exist allow me manually change category/menu alias category blog page , articles have category name uppercase letters? any appreciated. thanks! you can 301 redirect uppercase urls lowercase.
