Long URL of articles which r linked to categories not menus - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

i'm using joomla 2.5 site. running , faced problem articles have long urls sef enabled.
this url http://tripconnects.com/_sites/goldrush ... s-we-serve
i dont understand why seo url's create string?

?view=article&id=43:amador-county&catid=29:local-cities-we-serve

to knowledge article manager in joomla has created seo friendly url's based off category , article title. example article title "amador county" , article category "local cities serve". in theory, seo friendly url should be: http://tripconnects.com/_sites/goldrush ... dor-county.

how can shorten url wanted ones?
i'm messing thing past 3-4 days. :( appreciated.

- set sef option yes joomla configuration
- use .htaccess file in site
after done, check more on this, , give 1 link of article can look

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

hi all, searched , saw nothing related it. did quickinstall of joomla 3.3.6. when goto site location in browser error in subject. server specs below. wrong in assuming should ok , if know of fix. php: 5.4.32 could double check php version? create (eg phpinfo.php) file on server containing code: select all <?php phpinfo(); and open file in browser (via eg www.example.com/phpinfo.php ) ? for safety reasons remove file server after double checking.
