i'm sorry in advance...i know topic comes pretty regularly around here, i've been beating head against issue 2 days now, , can't seem work. beginner linux, , using project learning tool, though in production environment.

have ubuntu server 10.04 server in active directory (windows server 2003) environment. ubuntu machine file server accessed active directory users. be, essentially, server used for.

i've joined ubuntu server domain using likewise-open, , have installed samba. i've created folder labeled /etc/storage/test, , edited /etc/samba/smb.conf based on whole host of different resources, , have yet able access share windows machine. can see the share windows workstation, authentication fails every time.

can point me walkthrough, or helpful resource, or willing me struggle way through this? i'm headed home weekend, , picking again on monday morning (i'm in east tennessee).

your best bet web search there many howtos on setting sort of stuff up, , have read of them figure out level of integration want choose best method.
