Thread: stuck Print Screen key crashes computer

i have ongoing problem wherein kids shove keyboard tray under desk, pinning keyboard. way bracket positioned, print screen button gets stuck. when go use computer i'll find hundreds(?) of print screen prompts on-screen, hard-drive light lit-up solid, , computer totally locked-up. i've wasted lots of time trying recover without resetting give-up , pull plug. (even alt-f1 fails respond.)

suggestions on fixing or avoiding this? besides removing keyboard tray?

nope, no bug, user error.

disabling print key, create file called ".xmodmap" in home directory following content:

~/.xmodmap:

code:

keycode 107 = nosymbol sys_req nosymbol sys_req

the next time log in, asked if want use keymap file*, choose "add" , confirm "ok". should work then.
