Thread: Make Live-Xubuntu persistent

hey folks,

i'm traveling @ moment , last week laptop fell down , hard drive crashed had access windows pc (but no longer) , managed install xubuntu live version on usb stick able use computer , access internet now. it's first time using linux distribution , works fine me!

problem whenever install skype example, it's gone after reboot. googled , found out searching "persistent xubuntu version" (on usb device). tried advices found on internet none of them worked me.

there easy way make xubuntu version using persistent?

sure there plenty of solutions out there , if had access windows pc create new installation don't

i'd apprechiate help, thanks!!

sorry unless have nearby linux or windows pc can't anything. keep copy of skype.deb on usb don't have redownload it.

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

uppercase letters in url - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello all, i in process of migrating joomla 2.5 1.5. 1 of categories in 1.5 version had capital letters in name. in joomla 2.5, uppercase letters in article/menu/category alias automatically converted lowercase. i tried changing menu alias in database, caused 404 error in category-blog page. i have been trying many days find solution, reason being many of pages category in 1.5 site have lots of facebook likes don't want lose. does work-around exist allow me manually change category/menu alias category blog page , articles have category name uppercase letters? any appreciated. thanks! you can 301 redirect uppercase urls lowercase.
