Thread: reinstallation: which folders in / can I copy from old installation?
for whatever reason, can access xubuntu 11.04 via command line (after starting supergrub2-disk). since nobody had solution problem (see here), i'll reinstall xubuntu. unfortunately haven't made full backup yet - first thing works again. since can still access data, nothing's lost, i'd preserve many installed programs , configuration stuff possible. i've copied user folder usb hd.
folders in / can copy external hd , copy after reinstallation preserve of old system without messing new installation?
ps: i've opened new thread because doesn't have anymore initial problem, although it's still same general problem. don't expect more answers in old thread...
check other thread answer/question there...
on one, home directory... depending on install , other applications, of personal prefrences there. other configuration files... depend individually per application, global app's , config's. other "files" modified, well...
of generic application config's installed during installation.
