Thread: from windows vista without love

hi, folks... im moving, or trying move, crappy windows vista ubuntu... hope can count on guys usher me in...
ive bumped following problems:
1. on ubuntu, cannot see files , file structure i've built on c: drive, , cannot open of files ubuntu apps. have file system?;
2. trying let ubuntu update system update manager, whenever select files , click on "update", nothing seems happen. don't know wether running or not.
3. i've had problems (although randomly) of keyboard , right mouse button going totally dead, forcing me shut down computer , restarting it.

1) linux has different file hierarchy, / (root) similar computer in windows, in / (/etc, /bin, /sbin, etc) c:\windows or c:\program files, /home c:\documents , settings (or c:\users in vista , 7).
if want start windows world need install program called wine

sudo apt-get install wine

or use synaptic or use ubuntu software center. there alternatives software use in windows world inside linux world (ms office libreoffice, photoshop gimp) or have linux version instead (chrome, opera, firefox, skype).

2) update means "update list". want use "install updates". if still doesn't work you, try using synaptic (mark upgrades -> apply) or use command line

think first need install aptitude.

3) see patterns before "freeze" example "used pc 2hrs froze" or "i started skype , froze"?
