Thread: Broadcom NIC problem with DELL Vostro Desktop Machine

hello friends, have installed ubuntu 8.10 on dell vostro desktop working fine except network. unable setup network card has been detected there no drivers installed. dont know how can solve problem urgent please me

welcome forum, praveenksubedar.

first thing 8.10 old release, unsupported 18 months now. did have particular reason installing such old version?

suggest install long-term support 10.04 version, has 19 months of support on desktop, or latest 11.04 supported little on year yet. can download isos both releases here:

http://www.ubuntu.com/

if need preparing installation cd or usb, post back.

once have later version of ubuntu running, should able install appropriate broadcom driver using procedures described on community documentation page:

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

hi all, searched , saw nothing related it. did quickinstall of joomla 3.3.6. when goto site location in browser error in subject. server specs below. wrong in assuming should ok , if know of fix. php: 5.4.32 could double check php version? create (eg phpinfo.php) file on server containing code: select all <?php phpinfo(); and open file in browser (via eg www.example.com/phpinfo.php ) ? for safety reasons remove file server after double checking.
