xmp files have become disassociated with image

my xmp files have become disassociated image in acr cs5. bridge shows thumbnail , xmp file side side changes make in acr or in rating images theough bridge.  have searched answers coming empty. anyone?

if reffering raw files, yes, expected , designed. raw files considered read files , variouse metadata therefore stored in .xmp side car files. metadata tiff, psd & jpeg dng files can safely embedded file there no need of side car file.

 

just sure keep raw + .xmp files , treate them 1 file.

hi i trying upgrade joomla 2.5.27 3.6. have checked requirements (i've upgraded site), purged cache , gone short term support, when click save & close told (as before) have latest joomla version - not offer me joomla 3.6 (or else). have suggestions please? thank you c you can download joomla 3.x update , install manually using joomla's extension installer. don't forget create backup before doing that.
