hi ubuntu lovers,

need advice on project have create work (i primary web developer in php). have bar card reader works great(it mimics usb numpad). if highlight text-box on web form scans number in card.

have have bar code reader check database authenticate automatically. have talked business contracted use ubuntu. thing need piece of puzzle fixed.

plan. t
card reads number.
python script checks database if user true adds session variable server authenticating user.
other idea use bash php script doing thing similar.
issue peripherals not strong point not sure idea work , don't know how capture numbers card reader

use ubuntu project need development direction can 1 me.

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

hi all, searched , saw nothing related it. did quickinstall of joomla 3.3.6. when goto site location in browser error in subject. server specs below. wrong in assuming should ok , if know of fix. php: 5.4.32 could double check php version? create (eg phpinfo.php) file on server containing code: select all <?php phpinfo(); and open file in browser (via eg www.example.com/phpinfo.php ) ? for safety reasons remove file server after double checking.
