Thread: DNS Confusion

i'v got domain hosted externally @ xyz.com

wan't have internal domain sub.xyz.com inhouse use.

know can modify host files on computers point 192.168.1.50 (my ubuntu server address), , works.

right router/firewall (netgear) assigns ip address computers on network & acts dns network.

this, can't access domain (as it's internal address, , i'm not needing external access yet)

want (if possible) instead of having firewall dns isp, have set use ubuntu box
set primary dns 192.168.1.50 (this appears work) i'm still able find external stuff.

when try go sub.xyz.com can't find (so appears though dns isn't working)

using ubunt 11.04 ispconfig 3.0.3.3 & webmin.
dns = bind dns.

if hosting xyz.com externally , edit dns record point internal ubuntu machine not point 192.168.1.50 point wan address , have router forward traffic 192.168.1.50. thats see being wrong?

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

hi all, searched , saw nothing related it. did quickinstall of joomla 3.3.6. when goto site location in browser error in subject. server specs below. wrong in assuming should ok , if know of fix. php: 5.4.32 could double check php version? create (eg phpinfo.php) file on server containing code: select all <?php phpinfo(); and open file in browser (via eg www.example.com/phpinfo.php ) ? for safety reasons remove file server after double checking.
