Thread: Mouse problem; fix needed; double-clicks in error

for last two-three weeks mouse has started interpreting every other single click double click. it's apparently bug. it's apparently known bug. has apparently been bug, off , on, since 2008 or 2009. doesn't affect mice.

have 9.10, karmic koala. went trouble, when installed it, install kde3.5 play old goldrunner. don't know if upgrade leave kde3.5 in place , whole process kills day of time. though karmic supported through april 2011, has changed break it.

upgrading least palatable solution--if solve problem, isn't guaranteed. (okay, going windows least palatable solution; upgrading still not option want use... , shouldn't necessary.)

buying new mouse fix software problem palatable, shouldn't necessary. i'll if know fix problem.

have gigaware wired optical mouse usb interface.

i've seen 1 fix changes clocksource jeffries. clocksource tsc, , jeffries isn't in list of available clocksources.

until bug fixed, there ought decent workaround. have solution???

there not lot of persons willing distro has reached end of life. first question "does happen in recent release?"

maybe should not upgrade mouse, should upgrade other reasons. see no point in trying solve such problem when fixed upgrade.
