Thread: Laptop won't start after an upgrade

my wife has ubuntu on tosh laptop, accepted update offer last night, left on, morning screen still blank. won't start now, lots of lines of numbers, 3 of these:

[ 0.679499] vfs: cannot open root device "sda1" or unknown-block(0,0))
[ 0.679499] please apend correct"root=' boot option; here avilable partitions
[ 0.679557] kernel panic-not synced:vfs: unable mount root fs on unknown block (0,0]
[ 0.679614] pid:1 comm: swapper not tainted 2.6.38-11- generic #48- ubuntu

told me remembered might have said update take 17 hours!

i not aware of issue , can show 1 temporary solution solution going fixed.

if check grub menu you're going have previous kernels , can boot system old kernels .

2.5.28 to 3.4.1---Download of update package failed - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

went 2.3* whatever 2.5.28 same message.. had install via extension manager: install.. seemed work fine.. updated extensions , db.. tried run install again joomla! update module , download of update package failed message.. tried install extension manager: install. again , nothing.. don't seem have jommla_update.php file on server.. using godaddy plesk.. fun installed 3.4.1 on server using godaddy applications , worked fine.. i have seen server might out of space.. not issue here. permissions set correctly can tell. i new take easy on me.. any ideas? viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 Board index Joomla! 3.x - Ask Support Questions Here Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

hi all, searched , saw nothing related it. did quickinstall of joomla 3.3.6. when goto site location in browser error in subject. server specs below. wrong in assuming should ok , if know of fix. php: 5.4.32 could double check php version? create (eg phpinfo.php) file on server containing code: select all <?php phpinfo(); and open file in browser (via eg www.example.com/phpinfo.php ) ? for safety reasons remove file server after double checking.
