link magnification and resolution not working...

hi there, foks,

i've been burning along in ae cs6, loving far, although have discovered couple quirks.  perhaps i'm doing wrong.  can let me know! 

 

1) have set resolution auto when change different resolution magnification doesn't automatically readjust.  example, have resolution set half , magification set 50%.  if change resolution 25% magnification remains @ 50% , looks awful.  not have preserve resolution checked in compositions advanced settings.  there other place need enable automatic shifting?

 

2) importing layered photoshop files have consecutively numbered names creates chaos!  example, artist supplied me 5 photoshop files of painted cactuses.  each has 3 layers.  named cactus1, cactus2, cactus3, etc... when import them, first works, others come in 4frm duration can't altered (i've set import durations 30 seconds) , malfunction badly.  when change names cactusone, cactustwo, etc... imports correctly.  new in ae, or kind of bug?

btw, i'm on mac pro, 10.8.2 28gb of ram , 12 core 2.4 ghz processor.

for duration issue might wanan check if have accidentally used 1 of sequence import options. zooming behavior works designed - other auto make values operate separately , persistently.
