Cannot get to 1st page of install on 3.3.6 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i'm trying install joomla 3.3.6 fresh & clean install on sub-domain/test site plan later move live site (which on 2.5.57) once have set. no, don't want upgrade i'm doing rid myself of other issues site.

i've uploaded files of .zip package (yes, actual "files" not overall main folder) via filezilla correct spot on sub-domain..and getting following when going directly test site of ...

"/" suggest root directory or folder should public_html folder (or whatever host has set as).

it sounds file or folder permission issue. check chmod settings joomla folder "test" , files , folders within it.

if not working, suggest contacting host, saying trying (give them above information). host chance offer "quick install" joomla e.g. through plesk or cpanel, fantastico or scriptaculous or 1 of similar script installers.
